Youth Race 2025

Entries will open soon!

The Brighton Half Marathon Youth Races will take place on Sunday 2nd March 2025.

Located on Hove Prom, the event is designed for junior runners aged 7-17. Open to all abilities, our youth runners run a mile on Hove Prom, running along part of the main half marathon route before the half marathon runners come through.

The event gives youngsters a unique opportunity to experience the buzz of race day. Chip-timed, technical T-shirt and medal included, plus prizes for the first three runners in each of the five age categories.

Official charity: Rockinghorse Children’s Charity

We are pleased to announce that Rockinghorse Children’s Charity are the official charity partner of the Brighton Half Youth Race for the second year.

Rockinghorse Children’s Charity support sick and disabled children across Sussex. They support babies, children and young people, along with their families, at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and The Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton and all of the specialist children’s wards and baby units throughout Sussex.

You can support Rockinghorse by making a one off donation or you can set up a Just Giving page so that people can sponsor you to take part in the Youth Races.

£10 – could pay for a book or game for a child spending time in hospital. If you spend a lot of time in hospital you can spend a lot of time waiting – waiting for treatment, waiting for news, waiting for the all clear. Books and games help children and their families during this time.

£20 – could pay for a pain distraction toy for a child to play with whilst they get an injection or IV. Lots of medical stuff is painful, especially when you’re very small and you might have to have treatment for weeks on end. Toys help distract children, and support doctors and nurse to do their job quickly and effectively. Also, toys are fun!

£30 – could buy equipment that can help premature babies develop and recover. From baby gyms to aid physical development, sensory equipment to help them stay stimulated and learning throughout their stay in hospital, to baby rockers that can help rock them to sleep when their parents can’t be there to do it for them.

£40 – could pay for a Medibear, a special teddy bear that has the equipment and medical needs of a child with cancer. These help small children, their siblings and their families understand what is happening to them and learn about their condition and treatment.

£100 – could support our Rockinghorse Rainbow Fund which helps parents of children in hospital with whatever they need to help get through the toughest of times. This could vary from a meal out (of the hospital), to a family day trip to make memories or support with the costs of getting to and from the hospital every day.
