Training plan

The Grand Brighton Half Marathon 2018 training plan is now available – download it, stick it to your wall and tick off those training miles!

Our 2018 PDF training plan is a 16-week schedule which begins from 6 November 2017. You can of course start it later, but for beginners and those looking to start training early, 16 weeks is healthy amount of time to train for the half marathon distance so you build the mileage slowly and help to avoid injury.

For the 2018 race we are also once again partnering with Mbition, the adaptive training platform you can use wherever you live, and RunBrighton, a running group local to the Brighton area. So whatever your goals or wherever you do your running, you can arrive at the start line prepared. Find out more about the options below.

Mbition creates a custom training plan which is 100% built around your fitness, schedule and goal. It then adapts to your pacing, distance and activity levels as you progress.

It’s suitable for all levels of runners whether you’re a beginner or working towards a new personal best. It’s also flexible, so you can move your training sessions around if you’re having a busy week.

Each week Mbition checks in with you, giving you feedback on your progress and suggesting tweaks to your plan. So if you get behind with your training, Mbition will help get you back on track.

It’s free to sign up and it only takes a few minutes to create your own personal plan. Select ‘Brighton Half Marathon’, enter a few details about your availability and current fitness level and Mbition will create a custom plan for you.

Visit www.mbition.coach to sign up for a free 30 day trial.

If you live and train locally, RunBrighton is a local running group where you’ll be able to enjoy the company of well over 100 runners every week on their long training runs.

These go through to The Grand Brighton Half Marathon and beyond to the Spring Marathon season. Membership also gives you access to a range of other benefits including seminars & workshops, on-going advice, a choice of weekly training schedule based on your level of experience, discounts on numerous local running products and services, and periodic social events.
