Complete The Grand Brighton Half Marathon 2020 whilst only running 5k! Share the distance with three of your friends, family or colleagues in our good-old-fashioned relay race.
Ever wondered what it must be like to experience the electric atmosphere of a half marathon attracting over 10,000 runners, but not up to running over 13 miles? Well now is your chance to experience it for yourself!
The Sussex Beacon Relay is a team fundraising challenge, taking place at The Grand Brighton Half Marathon on Sunday 23 February 2020. Teams of 4 runners will complete the 13.1 mile course in a good-old-fashioned relay, each completing just over 5k each by passing a baton between their team mates. Teams will battle it out to complete the course in the quickest time, with the top 3 teams winning an award and prize.
This event is first and foremost a fundraising event to raise vital funds for our services which help people living with HIV. Each team is asked to fundraise a minimum of £200 – but the sky is the limit! The team to fundraise the most for The Sussex Beacon will be crowned the winner of our Top Fundraiser prize and award.
We welcome teams of friends, family members, colleagues and community groups to enter with either of the packages below. Anyone over the age of 17 can enter.
We have two different types of entry to choose from. Check out the details below and register your team online.
Includes: One team entry for four runners, a Sussex Beacon Relay 2020 medal and T-shirt each. An invitation to meet the teams and collect your race packs at a venue in Brighton. Access to a dedicated Relay Resources portal with key up to date event information and downloadable fundraising resources.
Hospitality: Access to the Team Beacon marquee, with separate baggage area, toilets, catering, a place to sit and relax and professional photos with your medals.
Cost: £150 per team
Includes: Everything in the standard entry, plus your business name, logo and description on the Brighton Half Marathon website if a corporate team.
Hospitality: Everything included in the standard entry, plus you will celebrate with your teammates in style with exclusive race day hospitality at The Grand Hotel on Brighton seafront.
Cost: £250 per team

A team captain will be required to complete the registration and pay for the team, so prepare to have everyone’s contact details handy.
Want to reserve your team, but not 100% sure who your four runners will be yet?
No worries, if you do not yet know who all four of your runners will be, you can register and enter their details as TBC for now. After registration, you will receive log in details to create an account for your team, through which you can update your runners details until the end of January.
Team Beacon Marquee
On the day, all relay teams will have access to our exclusive Team Beacon facilities on race day. A special area dedicated to all participants in the days events who are going that extra mile and taking part to raise funds for The Sussex Beacon. This exclusive area features a huge marquee with baggage facilities, separate toilets, delicious catering, water, comfy seating, professional photographer for complimentary digital photos and not forgetting buckets of support and motivation from our volunteers.
