The Sussex Beacon Corporate Relay

The Sussex Beacon Corporate Relay is a relay race in which businesses enter a team of five runners who work together to complete the half marathon course in the quickest time. The half marathon course is broken down into five fun-size legs with the first team member setting off from the start line to complete 3.1 miles (5k), and the following four team members completing a leg of 2.5 miles (4k) each. The relay begins with the main race, so the atmosphere is incredible.

The three teams to complete the relay in the fastest time win an award and prize. Of course, it is called The Sussex Beacon Corporate Relay for a reason, so all teams also fundraise for The Sussex Beacon (the charity behind the half marathon), who provide specialist care and support for people living with HIV. This aspect of the event has drummed up the most competition between our businesses in previous years, as the best fundraising team also wins an award and prize.

See the teams that battled it out in the 2018 race below.
